Canna’s Buffered Coco Coir — Clean, Consistent Medium for Planting & Vermicomposting

Canna’s Buffered Coco Coir is a coconut fiber clean, consistent medium that’s been carefully washed, rinsed, and fully buffered to remove salts and balance pH to 5.7–6.5. It’s perfect for worms, roots, and beneficial microbes.

When hydrated, each brick expands into about 10 liters of soft, fluffy coir with excellent aeration and water-holding capacity. Simply add water until fully expanded and loosened, and it’s ready to use.

Gardening Use

Coco coir is valued by gardeners for its superior moisture retention, stable structure, and excellent aeration. It helps plants stay hydrated while keeping oxygen around the roots—ideal for indoor pots, seedlings, and outdoor gardens, especially in hot, dry climates. You can use it 100% for potting mixes or seedling mixes, but it works best when combined with compost, organic potting soil, or other amendments to enhance nutrients and microbial activity.

Worm Bedding Mix

Coco coir can also serve as a base or addition to your worm bedding mix. You can use it 100%, but it works best when it makes up half or less of your mix. Combine with high-quality compost, cardboard, and/or paper waste for a stable, breathable bedding that holds moisture evenly and promotes a thriving environment for worms and beneficial microbes.

FYI: The coir is shipped in paper packaging that can be torn up and added directly to your worm bedding mix—just be sure to remove any stickers or tape first.
